This weekend I was in Amsterdam (NL) to visit my partner Alec and to check the Velodrome as possible place for my world record attempt.
As you can imagine I cycled the way from Leuven (BE) to Amsterdam (NL) and return
Starting at 02.30 (am) on Saturday morning and arriving at 17.00 in Amsterdam after 300km.
I know the actual distance is only 230km but I used only my compass and no maps. There is only the problem that some rivers appear all of sudden and I must find the nearest bridge.
After my arrival, I and Alec visited the Velodrome in Amsterdam. One cycling team was training in the Velodrome. It was pity that I could not try it as well to cycle some rounds on the lane.
On Sunday, I had to take off and started my long way back to Leuven (BE). The weather became worse hour by hour … heavy rain and headwind
I had no choice than cycling faster than usual to keep me warm in my wet clothes. Finally, after 275km I arrived in Leuven (BE) at 03.00 am on Monday morning.
I won‘t show the last picture when I arrived in Leuven (BE). I was scared to look like that
Many thanks for your hospitality, Alec! It was a great adventurous weekend.
