After my arrival in Paris (FR):
I am highly pleased of my cycle adventure from Leuven (BE) to Paris (FR)!
Finally, in
Paris I am glad to meet my best French friend, Bigfoot.
I am happy to hear that he wants to help me with this project!

Bigfoot works for a Fair Trade producer in Paris (FR) and will try finding a sponsor in this Fair-trade area. We could need good food in France during our expedition.

Last but not least: A big thank you to Bigfoot & Sabrina for their hospitality:
I like it always to visit my friends in
France ;-)

Now I am highly motivated for the coming project adventures!

Weekend in Amsterdam: visit Alec // 2 Non-Stop-Rides from Leuven (BE) to Amsterdam (NL) and return

This weekend I was in Amsterdam (NL) to visit my partner Alec and to check the Velodrome as possible place for my world record attempt.
As you can imagine I cycled the way from
Leuven (BE) to Amsterdam (NL) and return

Starting at 02.30 (am) on Saturday morning and arriving at 17.00 in Amsterdam after 300km.
I know the actual distance is only 230km but I used only my compass and no maps. There is only the problem that some rivers appear all of sudden and I must find the nearest bridge.

After my arrival, I and Alec visited the Velodrome in Amsterdam. One cycling team was training in the Velodrome. It was pity that I could not try it as well to cycle some rounds on the lane.

On Sunday, I had to take off and started my long way back to Leuven (BE). The weather became worse hour by hour … heavy rain and headwind
I had no choice than cycling faster than usual to keep me warm in my wet clothes. Finally, after 275km I arrived in
Leuven (BE) at 03.00 am on Monday morning.
I won‘t show the last picture when I arrived in
Leuven (BE). I was scared to look like that :-(

Many thanks for your hospitality, Alec! It was a great adventurous weekend.

Eva Award 2007

Freitag, Dezember 7th, 2007

Dear all,

On November, 23 there was the awarding ceremony in Essen (DE) for the best events and fairs’ participants in the year 2007.

Julia and I were invited to take part in it. We have had a very interesting evening full of inspiration and exciting projects out of the branch. After the awarding and meet & greet, we got in contact with many people which gave us many valuable hints for our project. We will use these to keep the project on a high level and awake interest to it out of the branch itself. Especially, this is all about the world record attempt and the start off in May 2008. Yet, many ideas are looked forward to be set up.

In the end, again a thank you to Marco for his trust in our work there and in general.

From our side, we wish you all an Advent of reflection and a happy new year because we are now going back out for a while to Hong Kong (CH) and a creative break.

Best Regards

Julia & Martin, the project manager
