Where is Marco?

As Marco is cycling for about 2 weeks through the winterly landscape of Poland now and keeping us up to date via the blog, we thought it would be interesting to see where our biking hippie hangs out.

For that purpose we equiped Marco, similar to migratory birds, with a little homing device, the Nokia N95 mobile. Every time he takes a picture with it, the N95 will save its GPS-Position.

That way, you can see the last impressions of Marcos trip on our new Map, linked with the particular tour episode.

Marco has left Berlin on Sunday, December 14th at 3 o’clock pm.

Many thanks to all who came to our farewell party and show their support with that. Especially but to all those who honoured Marco and the project on Sunday as well, when he started in front of the Brandenburger Gate in Berlin.

We are now waiting eagerly for Marco’s first report on the journey !

Ride On ! We are with you !

I hope you’ll be there numerously because we set up a nice program for you ! Anyhow, what I would like to announce :

If you will not be able (do not know how this might be possible ;), to make it to Berlin on Saturday - send us a short video comment on the start. This will then be shown on Saturday to support Marco mentally.  So its your chance to become a part of the expedition as well.

Simply, post it as a comment or send it to me via mail martin@berlin-hanoi-2008.com

Ahoy,

An exciting weekend at the IFMA in Cologne has just passed by.
For those of you who are not familiar with this term its the ‘International Bicycle Trade Show’, which is one of the most popular bike trade fair conventions in Germany.
We were invited by grenzgang* to present our project at the Long Distance Bikers Convention.

So it was great to attend the trade fair as exhibitors, and not just visitors :0)
It also meant a lot of preparation for our exhibition stand -  Pictures coming soon!

Highlights of the weekend:

  • Marco’s Saturday interview on stage.
  • Marco’s much improved Sunday interview on stage. (video clip coming soon)
  • An enormous amount of positive feedback from exhibitors and visitors, who were enquiring, and looking at our stand  - even pinching some dried fruit - courtesy of Bigfoot - thanks Bigfoot!
  • Displaying our promo/documentary on the monitor (many, many thanks to our friends & parnters in UK)
  • Two wonderful evenings with our hosts in Cologne (many thanks again to Peter and Kristina)
  • And the conclusion: Thank Goodness we still have some Aspirin.

See you folks.
Martin
